Our Sussex Barn – The Perfect Venue
for your Wedding Celebration
Directly off our farmyard is a beautiful early nineteenth century Sussex Barn. The building, with brick walls under a clay tile roof, would have served originally as a Threshing Barn.
In the last 200 years it has seen many uses, when we came to the farm there was evidence of cow stalls and a raised milking area, and had later been used to store grain. Once we had cleared out the debris of an antique restorer we used it initially for lambing in the early part of that year.
Over the last few years we have restored the fabric of the building and it now makes an excellent venue for weddings and other celebrations, and of course you wouldn't have to go far to find excellent sparkling wine!
The barn consists of a large ground floor, with full-height double doors, it has a mezzanine gallery at one end, and within reason the space can be adapted to suit your requirements; sixty guests can be seated on the ground floor and a further twenty in the gallery. Some of the functions in the past have incorporated marquees to provide additional areas for reception or dancing.
There is also a fully-equipped servery within the building and separate ladies' and gentlemen's lavatories across the courtyard.
